Cinema opened just 6 years ago as the culmination of a lot of hard work by
local people to turn a redundant church hall into a superb cinema. Styled as
the 1930's it is a far cry from the sterile multiplex cinema. The cinema is

Experience the '21 mile drive', a beautiful figure-of-eight scenic tour of the area, including some single track roads that twist and turn down steep tumbling valleys and then run along the contour of the wooded cliffs.

Horse riding is very popular in the area with several stables catering for both novice and experienced riders,
with the opportunity to ride over the moors.

A small herd of huacaya
alpacas bred near Lynton for their fleece. Also animals for sale, stud
services, farm visits, spinning, weaving and walking with alpacas. |

The famous Lynton & Barnstaple Railway closed in 1935. The day after
the Railway closed, a wreath was placed on the buffer stops at Barnstaple
Town with a note inscribed: "Perchance it is not dead, but sleepeth".
Inspired by this hope, for over twenty years revivalists have been dreaming
and labouring to reopen the line, and now they have realised the dream with
the reopening of part of the line at Woody Bay. Steam and diesel hauled
passenger rides are operating throughout the summer.

The famous water powered cliff railway linking Lynton and Lynmouth is
well worth a visit during one's stay. Open every day, times variable
depending on season. |
The West Somerset Railway runs from Minehead to Bishop's Lydeard near
Taunton and is the longest preserved railway in the UK. Steam and diesel
trains operate daily throughout the season. |

When the right conditions prevail the surf at Lynmouth Bay is a regional classic. Surfing is ideal for the experienced surfer with a point-break together with a west, south-west swell and a southerly wind.

Formed to develop technology for exploiting
flowing water in general and tidal streams in particular, the first phase of
this ambitious project has commenced with the installation of a 300kW single

From country lanes to bridleways and special trails, all offer a different experience for the cyclist and mountain biker. Cycling is easy and enjoyable for all ages and abilities as well as special needs. Attend a bike hike with a National Park Ranger. Cycle hire is available locally. |

Lynton has its own bowling green and it is open daily from the end of April to the end of September. Visitors are more than welcome and bowls can be hired. Team members can be contacted if you fancy a game and want someone to play with or someone to show you the game. There are also many other greens in the area. you would expect, fishing is widely available. There are several places
which offer fishing and permits can also be obtained locally for fishing on
the Lyn. Permits available from the Post Office and Tourist Information
Centre. Sea Fishing and boat trips are available from Lynmouth Harbour.
